Patch 4.0: Relearning Feral Tanking

Just thought I'd make a quick post, one that I'll expand upon at a later time.

For the last week, I've been afraid to tank on my druid because of the changes that were made when 4.0 dropped. The biggest change I'd seen was a cooldown added to swipe, which, for those who don't know, was my main multi-target tanking skill. I've been scared to tank heroics most because with the cooldown, I had nothing to grab and hold onto mobs, which would be torn away from me as soon as the DPS started attacking. DPS are stupid sometimes, and never pay attention.

However, after having talked to my boyfriend, we decided to run a few raids and instances to try and get me some practice. It started with a ToC10, which went amazingly fast. The buffs DPS got made it so that the fights lasted around a minute and a half each. (Nothing dropped for my kitty DPS set, which made me kind of sad, even if I was expecting that to be the case). Next followed a random heroic: Halls of Reflection. I couldn't believe my luck. By the end I was sailing, but the beginning was very rough from my point of view. That particular instance is really good for tanks still learning multi-target tanking -- they'll learn very quick in that sort of situation, as I did. We ended the night with an OS10 zerg. As a precaution, I asked my boyfriend to tank the trash as I wasn't sure I could pick them all up, but I ended up doing fine. We wiped once, but got him the second time around.

I lost the mount, though.

On an off topic note, I apologize for how rough my writing must seem right now. It's been a while since I've sat down to write anything at all. Hopefully my writing will smooth out the more I do this.
